Look familiar? Facebook tests 'Messenger Day' with disappearing filters to take on Snapchat's stories

It appears Facebook hasn’t given up on being a Snapchat copycat just yet.

Two months after releasing Stories to Instagram, the social media giant has added a new format to Messenger that lets users share photos and videos with illustrated filters that vanish in 24 hours.

Launched in Poland as ‘Messenger Day’, the firm aims to use this new addition as a way to pique the interest of those who have yet to get hooked on its rival.

Those who are familiar with Snapchat Stories, will probably find Facebook’s new feature easy to use. However, Facebooks format lets users choose filters based on their emotions such as 'I'm feeling... so blue' and a filter with raindrops and bubbly blue font will appear
