Leandro Paredes wanted to stay at Roma despite Liverpool’s reported interest, according to Luciano Spalletti.
Earlier this week, reports claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s side were ready to launch a £26.5 million offer for the Argentine midfielder.
But the 22-year-old is now set to stay with the Serie A club after the Roma boss confirmed his desire to snub all interest.
‘Paredes? We live in the same apartment block so we got to speak,’ said Spalletti.
‘He told me: ‘I don’t want to go anywhere’.
‘If we succeed in transfers even against the will of some players, these words pleased me.’
